Digital and Analog Printmaking

This project was inspired by my sister Nina; she has special needs and goes to school on a farm in Pennsylvania. One of Nina's jobs is to help make pottery and sell it on their Etsy site. Over the winter I travelled out to PA and helped photograph all of their finished pieces, so to make them easier to upload to the Etsy site. The pieces of pottery were inspiringly beautiful; I took fragments of the images I had and created a digital rendering. I then created solar plates with four chosen digital pieces. From there I spent my time at the press, using the solar plates, as well as the monoprint technique, to produce final prints. Lastly, I rescanned all of my work and digitally manipulated it with Photoshop to create some of my final pieces. Below, are my final pieces submitted as a final portfolio for the course; they are a mixture of digital manipulations of my prints as well as some of the original prints.
